Our story begins with the Internet
In 1997, Martin Hetzner wondered why web hosting in Germany was so expensive. He decided to offer high-performance hosting products at attractive prices. Today, Hetzner is one of the largest web hosts and data center operators in Europe and has locations in Finland, the USA, and Singapore in addition to Germany.
Founding
At a time when the internet was still a playground for many, Martin Hetzner founded the company that bears his name. The trained electrician and electrical engineer had always wanted to be self-employed. He found the ideal business model in the IT sector.
